Creative Director & International choreographer Jermaine Browne with founder of Pildora Events Christina Almeida
On May 30th 2018, during Miami Fashion week, Pildora Events launched #FashionAbility, a sustainable event celebrating Fashion, Consciousness, and Luxury. #FashionAbility, which was held at the amazing and unique Faena Forum in Miami Beach is a true movement of sustainability and Pildora plans to reproduce this event along-side large fashion events globally.
Founded by beautiful female entrepreneur Christina Almeida, Pildora Inc. is a creative innovator driven global events and production startup based in New York City that develops interactive entertainment centered around environmental friendliness and social impact. There productions are choreographed holistically to connect the audience to the entertainment. Ultimately, their goal is to inspire the audience to live more sustainable lifestyles by exposing them to engaging, luxurious and accessible techniques to do so.
Founder Christina Almeida applies her unique skill set from her Masters in Strategic Design, from Parsons The New School, as Pildora Inc. takes a new approach to events planning them through a strategic design lens. They take a Human Centered Design (HCD) approach to develop start-to-finish high end unforgettable experiences integrating art, music, dance, fashion and content production surrounding sustainability. Pildora takes into consideration all stakeholders; including the environment and surrounding neighborhood in all aspects of development of their productions in the process leading up to, during and after the event. At #FashionAbilty there was no plastic use, all plants were taken home as gifts to guests and staff and left-overs and trash was taken to a local compost.
All guests were to wear black or white, with a suggested vintage piece. Sustainable fashion is dynamic, craftsmanship and the artisanal way of manufacturing is one approach, while the recycling and reuse process is another. The event invited guests to view all avenues to sustainable fashion, as Christina herself wore a completely upcycled dress hand-made by NYC based designer Alexander Acosta.
The creative innovation of #FashionAbiilty was developed by world-renowned international creative director and choreographer, Jermaine Browne. The night was electric with a beautiful performance by dancers Zoje Azeke and Sacha Storto. The dancers were flawlessly engaging with each other with and the guests to tell a story about sustainability, fashion and love through movement. This contemporary ballet is orchestrated and produced by world renowned choreographer Mr. Browne. This interactive fashion experience had the guests enchanted and left them in aw.
The walls were lined with art photographer and creative consultant, Elena Kosharny’s large black and white prints. Through these images she demonstrated the idea of people , particularly women, in their raw and real states.
Included in this night of beauty, art and fashion was designer Fabrice Tardieu maker of hand crafted artisanal sneakers with a elegant touch of uniqueness and high quality. His shoes were displayed in a fashion museum like installation with models dressed in hand-selected high-end vintage pieces that created a beautiful juxtaposition to the modern feel of the sneakers. This was highlighted as violinist, Margeaux Maloney from the New World Symphony played “Bird Set Free” by Sia on her classic violin as she led the models through the event in a line.
Pildora Events is a wonderful company to keep an eye on! There cause is eye opening and Fashion Haunts Magazine will be patiently waiting for their next event to amaze the eyes and tingle the senses!
